Tamas Matyek, Founder & Designer
Tamas Matyek, owner of Cabinet Maker NYC, believes in creating
sustainable elegance through conscious woodworking.
This means:
– building with legally sourced sustainable wood
– harvested with forest conservation in mind
– using methods that minimally impact local water sources and indigenous populations.
Each and every custom made piece of furniture – from kitchen cabinets to bookcases to architectural woodwork – is sourced from Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood. Tamas uses water based paints and environmentally-friendly finishes, in addition to reclaimed and recycled wood when possible.
For Tamas – ‘sustainable’ isn’t a buzzword; it’s the only practice he’s ever known. You can find him on Instagram: @cabinetmakernyc
