Position Overview:
As a Wood Finisher Helper, you will assist the finishing team in preparing and applying finishes to custom woodwork pieces. We are seeking someone with at least 3 years of experience assisting in the high-end wood finishing woodworking industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wood finishing techniques and a commitment to delivering top-tier craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sanding, staining, and applying various finishes (such as varnish, lacquer, or paint) to cabinetry and custom wood pieces.
- Prepare wood surfaces by sanding, filling imperfections, and ensuring a smooth finish.
- Maintain finishing equipment and ensure the work area is clean and organized.
- Help with masking and protecting areas not to be finished.
- Collaborate with senior finishers to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Carry out minor repairs on wood surfaces as directed.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures in handling materials and equipment.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in high-end wood finishing within the woodworking industry.
- Strong knowledge of sanding, staining, and finishing techniques for custom woodwork.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from senior staff.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Physical stamina to handle lifting, standing for long periods, and working with your hands.

Pay: $45,000.00 – 50,000.00 per year
